The BEETS crew are back at it again. The music studio has been a space of profound creativity and positivity. The music is flowing and the vibes are feeling good!
There is a lot going on behind the scenes — changes, growth, new perspectives. It’s fun, it’s fresh and most importantly it’s ALIVE.
The sound waves are pumping, the frequencies are harmonious and we are stoked to be out here vibing high on life.

Tech
Despite some pretty significant setbacks with the rollout of the Boosted Pools on Fantom, things are still looking rather optimistic. We are currently waiting to hear back from the Balancer Lab engineers on what exactly the future looks like but in the meantime WE GOTS STUFFS TO DO!
Buildin ain’t gonna build itself now is it?
Reliquary is oh so close to perfection. The infrastructure has been set up, the code has been reviewed, the UI has been built, the artwork has been crafted and the comms have been constructed. We’re pretty much there!
It’s really just a process now of putting everything together so we can have the best migration possible. Make sure to check into the Town Hall for a more in depth update and alpha on… Wen Reliquary!
Outside the scope of Reliquary the tech team have been working on general bugs and fixes as well as diving in a little deeper to some of the underlying architecture. Things like the smart order router are under the microscope and it’s exciting to see some of the progress.
Constantly improving, constantly building. It’s the little steps that count and we’re making moves everyday!

With the launch of Reliquary just around the corner things are really starting to spice up. By now you should all be familiar with the idea that Reliquary revolves around a concept of maturity. One of the other differences however is that in Reliquary after you staked your fBEETS you will be issued a relic which is a financial NFT that represents a position in Reliquary.

This week’s hot take is all about the new fleet of pools on the Optimism DEX. With the vulnerability now mostly behind us, a proactive step was taken to ensure things are set up to thrive on OP.

Social Science Lab
Hold on tight, the OP wagon is steaming through the OP city at full speed!
Collective, social, and inclusive — that’s what OP stands for. Sounds very social sciency… No surprise that our social scientist Josey can’t leave those values inherent to OP’s identity unexamined!
On the horizon: Social bonding in the City of Optimism — A social science study
Together with her collaborators, Josey has been busy cooking something up in the science lab. The result: a brand-new study on ‘identity fusion’ and social bonding, conceptualised specifically for Optimism. With OP as the primary collaborator, the goal is to also conduct the study for several protocols as part of the OP network including Beethoven X. The study proposal will be introduced on the OP forum this week to garner attention for the upcoming & planned OP grant application in Season 3 (official starting date Season 3: January, 26th 2023)
So what’s the study about?
By applying a psychological lens to examine the question “What makes people stick to a network and/or protocol long-term?”, Josey & her team are tapping into uncharted territory. The study examines a protocol’s stickiness by exploring the underlying mechanisms that drive relational ties between the members of a network/protocol and the network/protocol itself (i.e., the more abstract brand). It does so by drawing on the concept of ‘identity fusion’ that describes the deep feeling of ‘oneness’ with a group (see illustration):

The scientific goal of the study: examine the extent of identity fusion for OP, Beethoven X, and further protocols
The practical goal of the study: increase community stickiness
Why is this relevant? It leads to higher commitment, loyalty, pro-group behaviour & self-esteem … and thus, competitive advantage
The insights provided by the study will equip OP with the necessary knowledge and tools to foster relational ties in the city of Optimism. Building a strong and loyal user-base goes beyond pure financial incentives. In order to attract and retain highly committed members — and consequently, keep liquidity and TVL on chain — strong relational ties amongst OP citizens/group members and the more abstract city itself are needed.
